We recently covered some of the latest research findings, but what really happens to students, staff and the surrounding community when a school is targeted for a turnaround? A new series in the Las Vegas Sun promises to tell the tale, following five Clark County, Nevada schools in the midst of a turnaround for perpetually low test scores and high drop-out rates through the whole school year. With over 8,000 students enrolled in the 5 schools, there is much at stake. We think it will be worth watching the story unfold.
