The Los Angeles Times reports that California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has the support of the state's largest teacher's union for his new budget's reduced education spending. Schwarzenegger had had the unenviable task of simultaneously resolving the state's $14 billion budget deficit while honoring his campaign promise to keep education spending "off the table." The details of the Schwarzenegger plan do, however, include $2 billion in "temporary cuts" which the Governor has promised will be restored next year, whether or not California's ailing economy improves. The Governor apparently has a secret plan to start manufacturing money.
