NCTQ is pleased to join the PIE Network—a.k.a. Policy Innovators in Education. We're especially honored to be the first new national organization to join the network since its founding in 2007 by the Center for American Progress, Center on Reinventing Public Education, Education Sector, and Thomas B. Fordham Institute.
The national partners work alongside 25 state advocacy organizations in 18 states in pursuit of a better orchestrated agenda for achieving education reform—not necessarily all playing the same notes—but nicely harmonized.
In related news, today the PIE Network is releasing Schools in High Gear: Reforms That Work When They Work Together, a collection of essays that pulls together some of the thinking across the national organizations contributing to PIE. Executive Director Suzanne Tacheny Kubach introduces essays written by Ulrich Boser and Cynthia G. (Cindy) Brown of the Center for American Progress; Robin Lake and Paul Hill of the Center on Reinventing Public Education; Education Sector's Bill Tucker; Chester E. Finn and Michael J. Petrilli of the Thomas B. Fordham Institute; and our own Kate Walsh.
