Hawaii will be throwing leis around the necks of some talented new college grads in the next few years. The Aloha State has partnered up with Teach For America in an effort to get 50 dynamic new teachers into the nation's only statewide school district.
Hawaii officials hope that TFA will help shrink the islands' teacher shortage and bring back some natives who went to the lower 48 for college. They may have to get some non-natives as well; if anything, they'll probably have to start a lottery to determine who gets the coveted tropical assignments.
