On August 20th, NCTQ released a report on the widespread inequality in access to the most
experienced and effective teachers in Miami-Dade Public Schools. The study, Unequal
    Access, Unequal Results
, found that students in voting districts 1
and 2—which are primarily African American and low-income—are far more likely to
lack access to the teachers they need to succeed in comparison to the rest of
the school district. In fact, almost two-thirds of all first-year teachers in
Miami-Dade are concentrated in these voting districts, which also happen to
have the lowest percentage of teachers rated as highly effective.
